MENA-Europe Future Energy Dialogue 2024

A Focus on Energy Infrastructure

Overview of MEFED24

Welcome to the MENA-Europe Future Energy Dialogue 2024 (MEFED24), a leading forum for decision makers from politics, business and research, dedicated to strengthening energy cooperation between the MENA region and Europe.

Following up on the successful 1st MENA-Europe Future Energy Dialogue (MEFED) in Jordan at the Dead Sea in June 2022, MEFED24 took place in Thessaloniki, Greece on 8 September 2024, co-hosted by H.E. Theodoros Skylakakis, Minister for Energy and Environment of Greece, and H.E. Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany.

MEFED24 focussed on cross-regional energy infrastructure for green electricity, hydrogen and derivatives to enable increasing energy trade between the MENA region and Europe. The conference brought together high-level representatives of the public and private sector, infrastructure operators and financial institutions. Participants are invited to use MEFED as a platform for own initiatives to accelerate cross-regional infrastructure development such as the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) or the announcement of new initiatives, etc.
